  • 2 pounds of stew beef

  5. Reheat the beef to a simmer, cover it, and cook it for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until it is very tender.
  6. Add extra broth if the liquid level becomes too low.
  7. Once the vegetables are soft, boil the carrots, parsnips, and turnips for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Remove one cup of the cooking liquid and stir it into the flour if the stew is still too soupy. Once more stir the flour mixture into the pan.
  9. Allow the stew to simmer for 10 minutes after it has thickened. Cook the meat until it is extremely soft if it is tough.
  10. Put the parsley in just before serving.
