How to Make Snowflake Roll Sushi Recipe?

You can use any type of white fish in this recipe, but I prefer salmon because it has a delicate flavor that goes well with the crab filling.

Ingredients for Recipe

  • 8 imitation crab sticks
  • 1 tiny cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon mayo
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 drops sriracha, or more if you can handle the heat
  • 12 ounces of cooked sushi rice 3 Tbsp.
  • Vinegar for sushi 2 sheets of nori, using 34 of each sheet
  • 1 teaspoon roasted sesame seeds, (optional)

Directions for Recipe

This snowflake roll sushi is a fun, creative way to enjoy your favorite ingredients. The colorful snowflake pattern of the roll looks like it was made by a magical snowflake maker!

  1. Make long, thin strips or matchsticks out of a cucumber.
  2. Shred the fake crab and place it in a container.
  3. Pour on some mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Sriracha or your preferred hot sauce. They should be well combined.
  4. For 10 to 20 minutes, refrigerate covered.
  5. Sushi rice should be seasoned with 1 tsp. of sugar, 1/4 tsp. of salt, and either sushi vinegar OR an equivalent amount of rice/apple vinegar.
  6. Put your bamboo mat on a flat surface and wrap it with plastic.
  7. Place another plastic wrapping on top of the bamboo mat.
  8. Lay a plastic/bamboo mat on top of a nori sheet that has been torn in half.
  9. After covering the nori with rice, turn the entire sheet over so that the nori side is now facing up.
  10. Slices of cucumber should be arranged after the crab salad.
  11. Lift, tuck, and roll the sushi into an uramaki roll.
  12. Crab salad should be spread out in a layer on one end of the plastic wrap.
  13. The sushi roll should then be placed on top.
  14. Roll the sushi carefully once more, and this time the crab salad will cover the top, giving it a lovely marbleized snow effect.
  15. Slice into small pieces.
  16. Before serving, open the package and scatter some sesame seeds.
  17. Serve right away or refrigerate for a few minutes for a chilly, refreshing feeling as you bite into it.
