Keto Orange Chicken With Sugar Free Marmalade
Hey, EatsBar’s visitors! Do you know? The keto orange chicken with sugar free marmalade is a fun way to get into the kitchen and embrace your inner foodie. It’s a tasty condiment that goes with everything from fruit to meat and cheese, and it brings a burst of flavor wherever it’s served.
This recipe takes advantage of the lovely citrus season we’re experiencing in northern California right now by turning oranges into something sweet and spicy that complements our keto diet. The first step is to remove the peel from your oranges with a vegetable peeler, which gives you a citrus zest to use in the marmalade.
The recipe calls for cooking the orange peels with water and sugar, but we’ve discovered that you can also use this method to make sugar-free candied orange peels if you skip the sugar and add more honey. These are great to use as a garnish for desserts like chocolate mousse or ice cream sundaes, or even as part of a cheese plate. We like them as a garnish for this keto orange chicken dish!
A Sugar-Free Marmalade Recipe
You could argue that there is no such thing as sugar-free orange marmalade because oranges contain natural sugar. However, I’m using powdered sweetener to replace the sugar in this recipe. You’ll also get more fiber from this version than you would from regular orange marmalade because I’m using the entire orange including the skins.

In a Friendly Tone for this Recipe
One of the things that make keto cooking so interesting is the different ways to include carbs in a meal. Rice and pasta are easily replaced with cauliflower and zucchini, but what still makes Asian food feel like keto orange chicken with sugar free marmalade?
With this recipe, we were able to take care of that. Orange Chicken has always been one of my favorite dishes but never made too many servings because I couldn’t eat it more than once a week without feeling bloated and lethargic. Now that I am on keto I can enjoy it without having to worry about that!
Another variation of this recipe that we experimented with is using coconut amines instead of soy sauce, which will give you a better nutrient profile (more on that below). We have not tried it yet but there are some pretty interesting recipes out there using it so you might want to look into those for inspiration!
